I’m Amar Sood, a technologist and founder based in New York.
Artist + Philosopher archetypes.
I’ve been programming since I was 5 and have spent my career building and leading technology companies. I’ve served as CTO seven times, including at Forge, which went public at a $2bn valuation. Beyond technical leadership, I’ve worked across every startup function—from CEO to operations, legal to product design.
Currently, I’m a solo founder building Pervasive, where I spend my days convincing a database to be strongly typed. (Yes, I’m one of those HYTRADBOI people.)
Background
I studied Computer Science at Trinity College, Cambridge. Originally from London, I now call Manhattan home.
My expertise spans the full technical stack and most programming languages, but my real specialty is the intersection of technology and people. I’ve been fortunate to work with brilliant teams and help build systems that scale both technically and organizationally.
Beyond Tech
I hold an Advanced amateur radio license (M0TKX) and trained in Classical Indian Music. I read voraciously—from philosophy and literature to whatever catches my interest.
I experience the world a bit differently with SDAM (Severely Deficient Autobiographical Memory) and aphantasia, which shapes how I approach problems and systems.
